I am quite content to be a small-town guy. I was born in central BC, Canada, and have chosen to spend the rest of my days here with the love of my life, Constance, whom I only recently found and brought here from South Africa.

"My" valley in BC offers a wonderful outdoor environment which is a source of emotional and spiritual fulfillment. Several years ago I chose to return after university to raise my two children in the valley and, since I love the outdoors, photography was a natural creative activity to pick up. I can't claim to have any art training... maybe there's merit in being a self-taught artist :)

I have played with some pencil sketching, and I intend to try painting, but there's just no explaining why a person would spend so much time becoming proficient on an Etch-a-Sketch.

I am also a writer of poetry and stories, often adding entertaining text to my photos. I have recently learned some of the tools offered in Photoshop to create some... "interesting" results :)
