Paolo Avanzi, born in 1958 in a city near Venice and living in Milan, is an eclectic Italian artist. He made experiences in different cultural areas (piano music, literary studies, creative writing, psychology etc) before approaching visual arts.
Artistic self-taught, his production started in 2000 with the usage of several materials (plastic, wood, glass) for informal and abstract artworks inspired by Italian masters. Since 2005 he developed an experimental figuration based on like-mirror effects. In such painting the represented human figures seem perceived through a fragmented mirror.
His latest production "Post Pop Art" is inspired by Italian masters of Pop-Art (Mario Schifano, Tano Festa etc). Paolo Avanzi thank to his eclectic background is able to approach each subject displaying an unique emotional energy.
Paolo Avanzi is an emerging Italian artist. He is arrived to the visual arts, after several experiences in different area (such as psychology, music, creative writing, organization, computer graphics) which enable himself to achieve a multi-disciplinary approach to the artistic creativeness. His recent production is based on computer painting techniques applied to Pop Art. This approach determines a distortion of traditional perspective that influences not only the colors but also the forms and dimensions of the object. In such direction the artist intends to develop his research in order to revitalize the Pop Art by contributions of abstractist matrix.
He had participated since 2003 to many solo and collective exhibitions both in Italy and abroad by Galleries and Institutions. He had also participated to important Italian Contemporary Art Fairs and International Art Fairs as well (as in Miami, New York, Innsbruck).
