A meandering flagstone path lined with a profusion of colorful flowers leads to the rustic carved entry door of an adobe pueblo in the Southwest town of Taos, New Mexico.. Courtyard gardens such as this one are a typical feature of pueblo style architecture, originated by the area's first inhabitants, the Pueblo tribe of native American Indians. The garlands of red chili peppers hanging to dry near the front door are another common sight in Taos. |
