Beautiful, very refined, serene Tibetan Bodhisattva mask. These masks are typically made in Buddhist monasteries in the Himalayan region. They are used during monastery festivals for Cham ceremonial dance dramas. A Bodhisattva is a being who has achieved Nirvana (supreme wisdom in Buddhist religion) but chooses to remain among suffering humanity in order to help them alleviate their misery and achieve wisdom. I sculpted this mask by hand, made meticulous refinements to it, then I carefully hand-painted the mask. It is set with a crystal cabochon and pearls. Small turquoise beads were also utilized. Mask size: 11 3/4 in. wide. To learn more about my method for making masks please read my Artist Biography. This mask is available for purchase. Contact me for more details.
