My name is Russell McKeand and I am the artist of this picture. I am 51 years old and have been drawing and riding motorcycles most of my life. This is a chance for me to apply both of my passions.
I use Prismacolor colored pencil as my media of choice and use an unforgiving technique called burnishing which completely covers the paper in multiple blended layers. Most people cannot identify the medium and usually think it is pastel or paint.
I have decided to create a series of classic Harley Davidson limited edition glicee prints. This print is limited to 500, but is offered in 3 sizes. All prints come with a certificate of authenticity and are hand numbered and signed. I use a printing process called giclee ("zhee-clay") which uses archive quality inks. Don't let these web images fool you, the visual quality of the print is extremely high and the color saturation and definition stunning. The Archival Matte Paper is a smooth surface, heavy weight (230 g, 9.5-mil), neutral white, matte paper engineered for accurate color reproduction that provides high contrast and high resolution output. This paper is acid-free making it the perfect choice for fine art reproductions. All prints come with an approximate 1 inch border.
