It's located at the very northern end of Kaneohe Bay, Oahu, better known as China mans Hat. At low tide you can wade across the sand covered reef from Kualoa, Ranch Beach Park and take a trail that goes to the very top. It's a mad scramble to the summit and very steep, so not for the faint hearted. Better to bring your pets and picnic basket and take photo's of it from the park...looks just like a china mans hat from there. In fact thats how most people paint it, as some kind of tourist trinket in the background, a dim outline resembling someone's old hat. You need to get down and dirty to really know it. Cross the ocean, get your adrenalin pumping, go for the summit, see what It sees; and, once having gotten there begin to see it for what it really is, a magnificent silent fortress standing proudly against the onslaught of the eternal sea, half warn and beaten, quietly ticks its geologic time long after the tourists have gone. Take off the silly hat to see its jagged and lush flesh up close in the raw. It deserves this. Reality deserves this. I speak for it.
