This is actually called Green Sand beach, by South Point in South Kona on the Big Island(the southern most point in the U.S.), but I couldn't call it that because I didn't paint the beach. The beach is green though from the olivine crystals found there. There are many other minerals there from the volcanic eruptions on Pu'u Mauna Loa vents. I found it more interesting to paint the shore break foam which churned up minerals into a kaleidoscope of colors. It reminded me of an Australian Opal from lightening ridge.
