This scene is just one of those scenes I have on my drive home along the coast from surfing the North Shore. I hike these mountains alot, but was never struck more by its beauty than when I came Around the Bend into the sun blazing through the valley. Sparkling like jewels the Koolau cliffs stood before me like an enchanting fortress of the Menehuenes, (a legendary small peoples who inhabited here before Man). I was overwhelmed by both the mythical, and Religious, beauty of the place as when I was hiking up there once after a 6 hr dangerous climb and kept hearing little children playing. I now realize it must have been an unseen stream...wasn't it!? This is for the mystical in us all.
