African Pride is a composition that was successfully executed with clay in a terracotta form. The work consist of rings, horns, beads, cowries and shells. The horn is a musical instrument used in traditional festivals, the bead is a symbol of aggrandizement by Kings and noble, the cowries and shells are used as part of the traditional custom, while the rings unite the whole objects in the composition. This piece was produced by throwing, press cast and scoping techniques. |
