This is one side of a PAPER SCULPTURE. 7 Feet Tall X 3 Feet Wide 'Priority' speaks about common sense, that guns should benefit people not target them. Guns can be a great tool for survival, however, guns in the hands of officials in uniform make targeting people a priority over free speech. Human life has no value to opinions that are unlike those in charge.
This issue is important because police have become an unruly group that make choices to use lethal force far too often. This paper sculpture was created to draw attention to that issue.
THIS side is titled 'FOOD' (white colour) The other side is titled 'SHOOT" (black colour)
One cut through two pieces of paper became two completely different scenarios in this paper sculpture artpiece.
Bullrushes and tall grasses become crowds of people with protest signs, the dock becomes a stage for demonstrators to converse with the crowd. The gunman and man's best friend (dog) transform from hungry hunstmen to deadly riot police. Most importantly, the target bird of prey becomes fellow man seeking support for protecting life. My paper sculpture Portrait of Priority has a message that allowes you to see it for your self, it is a portrait depicting intention, good versus evil, a silent, delicate protest for change. 'Priority' becomes a banner of free speech.
