Genie Wiley was found at age 13 strapped to a potty chair in a dimly lit room. For those 13 years she was starved, denied any human interaction, socialization support love and learning. Her basics even deprived with random spoonfuls of oatmeal when remembered and strapped to a potty chair to relieve herself. These were how her parents met her needs- believing she was "stupid" her parents feared her being exposed. When alas she was- she was adopted by a compassionate therapist who took her under his wing. though she had some happiness with him the story ends tragically. I relate immensely to her the feral aspect having gone from riches to rags and experienced homelessness at one point the feral aspect and also the social isolation I encountered when younger. When I heard of her story and saw the images I was instantly enamored. wishing she was my little girl. Those large haunting eyes- much like my own. Ironically, soon after finding out about her story though dateed I became pregnant with a baby girl. Genie wilds story touches me in many ways.
