Acrylic painting of a father and son walking up the pathway at Midway Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park. It was a cool, cloudy fall day with rain earlier in the day. Usually, I include some natural element from the location of the subject in the painting to bring home the point that all of nature is art and deserves our respect. But, its not cool to remove things from our national parks, so I didn’t. I chose to respect our national park by leaving it as it is for everyone else to enjoy. I did include some local eastern Florida sand in the painting because I just love the way it creates a special texture.
