This is a favorite plant for the collection of sweet nectar. The flowers are banged against the hand to secrete the juice which is sweet to lick. Smoke from the burning cones is believed to have been used to treat diarrhea. It is a small straggly tree found in seasonal swamplands in the Northern Territory that are only waterlogged during the wet-season. Flowering occurs around February to March. Leaves are large, serrated and dark Green.
