This vine supports itself by twining itself around other plants and fallen tree debris such as broken branches. The leaves are bright green, long and extremely narrow. Flowering takes place from March to June with bright yellow pea flowers. Fruit are in the form of pods and are eaten raw. The long thin juicy roots are eaten raw or cooked in hot ashes. Available throughout drier inland areas for most of the year, it is a trailing creeper which has yellow flowers and leaves.
