Who and Where?

My name is Lisa Carney. Multidisciplinary artist from Quebec Canada offering mixed-media, collages, assemblages and photomontages to communicate aesthetic values through abstractionism.

What and How?

Statement

My desire to create is fed by our beautiful planet and its phenomena. While working spontaneously and intuitively, I try to demonstrate the earths relationships with objects and its first civilizations.

Using mainly acrylic, I paint rows of textured colors in an abstract style, referring to the sedimentary layers of the earth. I also work with found objects, and sometimes insert them in my artwork.

Like the archaeologists, I try to find treasures, in order to share my discoveries.

Why?

Because, for me being an artist represents playing the many roles skill and knowledge grant me. I have chosen the name Asil to sign my art which is my first name spelled backwards and symbolizes my creative inner child.
