hello. i would liketo tell you a little about my self. i go back so far that i cant remember it. but what ican remember is that i started painting in the mid sixtys while i was stationed in Guam, while in the USNavy. but then with raising a family and working two jobs most of my Navy career, i just didn't have time to paint . I finally got freed up in the mid ninetys and started back to painting. Those many lost years were in valuable ,but I learned a lot and saw many , many beautiful placesdue to a second ,career in long haul trucking. So when i finally started painting in earnest I had a wealth of scenes floating around in my head' that is why i have such a varried pallett. I have over a hundred paintings ready to start uploading. Just as soon as I can figure out how to get them uploaded. (computer illeterate) I am totally lost in cumputer land and the youth look at me like i am a neandrathral which I am. I usually use an i-Pad and it almost types for you. This key board has to be told everything you want it to do. I'ts slower than me.Oh, yes i am self taught and when i paint i have to feel that i am in the picture as i'm painting or elese I dont get the results i'm looking for . I live in the blueridge mountains of N.C.and this presents me with a great deal of subject matter. I hope you enjoy my gallery. And may the Lord bless you real good. Sam McIlwain
