Inspirations: I was born in New Jersey, but brought to Florida as a young child, where I learned to enjoy the beauty of nature. After college where, I studied history and the old masters, I worked and traveled through out the world, finally settling back in Florida 20 years ago. My many trips to art museums, antique auctions and flea markets created a tremendous interest in art, honed my "art eye", and encouraged me to pick up the brush and pallet. I have developed many painting skills and techniques by studying at Creadle School of Art for three years.

I have always been fascinated by the techniques of the masters, and what makes a painting "good". An art expert once told me that looking at a "good painting" was like looking through a window, that you could almost "walk" into the picture yourself, and that the more you look at the painting, the better it gets. I have used these guiding principles in creating every painting I do. I want to make the viewer a part of the painting, and make sure it gets better every time it is viewed! I have been particularly inspired by the great French impressionist painters of the late 19th Century. The use of light and color to create shadows and the illusion of depth by such masters as Sisley, Monet and Pissarro has inspired me to see how I too could create a 3 dimensional image on a flat canvas.
