Hello, fellow Artists and Art lovers! My name is Matthew Read and I'm excited to be apart of No Bull Art! I think this a wonderful platform to allow us to enjoy and share our passion for art. This is my maiden voyage into the world of art promotion. I have wanted to take this step for a long time, but like many things in life, it took longer than I had hoped.

    I guess I should tell a little about myself. I was raised, and lived in Arkansas most of my life. Now I currently reside in Fairbanks, Alaska with my wife, Michelle, and our four children. We love Alaska and plan to make it our home for a long time to come. The beauty of this great land is a never ending inspiration for my art and my life. The people, the wildlife, the scenery...I want to paint it all!

    As for my art, I am mostly self taught. I did attend a college for commercial art when I was in my early twenties, but decided that pumping out art without emotion wasn't for me. So I guess you could say I took a long hiatous and finally reached a point in my life where I wanted to devote myself totally to my art. I guess I had to find myself and the path that I should be on.

    I want to make art that reaches people on a emotional level, whatever level that may be. I hope the viewer is reminded of something or just imagines themselves within the work. I don't want to limit myself either to one particular style or method. I want the process to be fresh and exciting every time I pick up the brush! I like to paint everything, from wildlife, to figuratives; landscapes to city views; still lifes to pets. You name it and I probably want to paint it.

    Since I am just getting started with the promotion of my work, my gallery will be a work within itself. I hope that many people will visit this site and enjoy viewing these paintings as much I enjoy painting them.I will be posting more really soon so check back often! As for now, I am currently in transit back to the United States from Iraq. Oh yeah, I guess I forgot to tell you I am presently employed as a soldier in the U.S. Army.
