In 1961 my aunt taught oil painting to me. I was nine years old and the love of art stayed with me. I was sixteen years old working as a freelance illustrator using inks to complete logos, caratures, letterheads, signs and other jobs in stiple and crosshatch. Yet it was not until college that a professor traded techniques that taught me the use of pastels and that I discovered my medium of choice. Oil, acyrlics, watercolor, pen and ink, photography ,ceramics, jewelry are practiced but not my favorite. I also work in computer graphic designs but fine art still rules. I have been in juried shows , solo shows. I work in a style that is inspired by Surat and Van Gogh using slash and dab use of color and stroke. First works using this style were in the late eighties. My pieces are 32 x 40 on the avarage and larger. Dyptic, and triptyics have been displayed mainly of landscapes and seascapes. Vanishing Texas and Southwest are topics I enjoy painting and promote most.
