David Therriault creates sculpture from stone. David’s artistic training and inspiration come from a lifetime of incorporating stone in natural settings as a landscape designer and as a shopkeeper at his countryside garden center in Beallsville, MD. His work reflects his intimacy with stone in nature and reveals its "beauty and soul."
David is a Montgomery County native son. Growing up in Potomac, he worked as an assistant to a Japanese landscape architect who unearthed David’s innate sense of design and balance in nature. This early experience paved the way for several honors David has received in landscape design ranging from ‘Best Garden with a Japanese Influence’ at the Washington Flower & Garden Show in 1994 to a recent invitation to design and install a garden walkway of "pervious paving" as part of the U.S. Botanic Garden 2008 summer exhibition on environmental sustainability
