I have been an artist for most of my life. My mother always liked telling the story of when I was a young child and was asked what I wanted to be. I would reply: I want to be an artist and live in a grass shack on the beach. And so it goes.
In my life I have moved through many different phases. I have worked with oils, acrylics and pastels, I have painted, sculpted and built with many abstract materials, but art has always been a sideline. In the year 2000, my husband and I decided to jump off a huge cliff and start the next chapter in our lives. We gave up our jobs, sold our businesses and properties and moved from the city to a totally "Green" solar and wind powered home on 40 acres in Northern Arizona. We did this before "Going Green" even heard of. It was just a new adventure that we wanted to tackle. We immersed ourselves in the farm life, self sustained living and my dream of being a professional artist. For the next 6 years we owned a shop where we successfully sold antiques and my art. Unknowingly, the antiques brought in the next stage, the use and feel of antiques in my pieces. This added a whole new twist to my artwork. We have since closed the shop to allow me to focus fully on my paintings without distraction. I have been selling my paintings in shops and boutiques and thanks to the internet, am now selling my works worldwide.
I am self taught. I beleive that art is from oneself. I have created my style through my own journey of learning. I do not know the usual techniques and rules and truly beleive it is one of the reasons my art is so different.
Thanks for taking the time.....
