My name is Linda Seagroves and I live deep in the woods on Lake Russell in Abbeville County, S.C .   where I have my studio " Lake Loon Studio" . I am a self taught artist . I have always been an artist of one medium or another all my life.  At this time in my life clay is my prefered medium. I enjoy the sensual feel the wet clay has between my fingers as it tells me what it is meant to be.  Sometimes I start with an idea and sometimes I just allow the clay to lead me into the shape that lies within . Many many many nights you can find me up in the middle of the night working in my studio.

   I live here at the lake with my husband , my great pyreneese pup and my 3 kitties. I am most often inspired by my pets especially my cats. Cats find there way into most of my works. More often than not I begin a piece and then i see a cat in it and it becomes a cat . My style would be considered  whimsical I guess.  My inspiration for my pieces is life itself.

  I do my art full time . I have my art in a little gallery here in Abbeville sc called Trinity Street Market and Gallery and I have had  my pieces in several galleries located throughout western NC.  I have had many shows here in the foothills of the western Carolinas . I worked with Polk County Schools in NC for 3 years teaching kids in the afterschool and summer programs the joy of clay .

  I also have a potters wheel but I find I enjoy doing handbuilt things the best .

  I do both fun and functional work. I create sculptures, garden art, tile art , and dinner ware . I enjoy doing custom orders for folks . So I welcome custom orders. If you can think it up I can make.  All my pieces are one of kind. I find I can never make any two things just a like. So each piece is an original piece. I do not work from molds or make cast duplicates of my pieces.
