Born and raised in Old Hickory, Tennessee, I grew up with a love and compassion for art. I graduated from high school shortly before having my first child and went to an online college and studied to become a paralegal. Everything I know about art is salf-taught. Mostly as a child I skecthed pictures of still objects, but after becoming a mother of three children, my love for art has grown to really appreciate out of the oridnary pieces of art--especially abstract ones.
Being a stay at home mom, I have often found myself relieving stress by creating my own pieces of art by using basic acrylics along with other household items. I take my emotions--from the proud feeling when my child has mastered potty training to the feeling of frustration when I'm not sure what form of plastic object was just flushed down the toilet as amusement for my two year old-- and pour them on to my canvas.
With my art, I can take my day with my kids and fuse that day's chaos of emotions with different forms of media to create a peiece that allows others to see how my mind captures my life's moments as a mother. My paintings consist usually of acrylic paint, but also vary from instant mashed potatoes to plumber's caulk.
I make each piece truly one of a kind, just as each day has a unique blessing that it brings.
