Michael Scherer
Biographical Information
Michael Scherer is a native Indiana artist, who has always had a deep admiration and love for nature. He drew animals, plants, trees and landscapes at an early age to go on to Indiana University to gain two degrees in Fine Arts and Education.
Michael taught elementary, middle school and high school art classes for a number of years at St. Joan of Arc Elementary and Middle School and Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, Indiana, before going on to work as a graphic designer for the State of Indiana at the Indiana Commision on Public Records.
During this time he also pursued his passion for painting and sculpting artwork based on nature themes. He has exhibited in local galleries and juried art exhibitions such as Renditions of Nature, Celebration of Nature and Nature’s Inspiration.
He has taught beginning and intermediate pastel painting at the Indianapolis Art Center and beginning and intermediate drawing and painting classes at the Sullivan Munce Art Center in Zionsville, Indiana.
