Joél M. Pérez – Born 1954 in Puerto Rico, raised and educated in New York City, and currently a resident of South Florida.
Having studied Art and Design at Pratt Institute, and business at New York Technical Institute, in New York City, I have been practicing architectural and interior design, for over a couple of decades, at a number of prestigious design firms; while, simultaneously, fueling my inspiration through the development of various art forms of expression, as exhibited by the following art gallery series.
The following gallery aims to exhibit, reveal, and express the deep connection with art and design I have nurtured and developed throughout most of my life.
As a professional designer of esthetically appealing spatial and environmental experiences, combined with a passionate drive to explore and experiment with artistically expressed, symbolically interpreted, abstract imagery, my aim has been for my artwork to reflect and evoke an emotionally personal response from the viewer(s), through the use of richly chromatic/compositional visual art stimuli.
I find my art is continually evolving, as I attempt to capture all the mystifying, intriguing, and stimulating visions that inspire my mind’s eye - visually interpreted statements, to be seen, experienced, and shared, as a reflection of the sole.
The Art works are a translucent and luminous, richly chromatic, oil painting series developed with relief compositional emphasis – creating a harmoniously balanced unification of sculpted form and color; utilizing abstractly expressed figurative and symbolic themes.
