JoAnn Nelson was born in Pensacola, Florida in July of 1971. At a very young age, she was given acrylic paint and brushes and took an interest in painting on ceramics . By her teenage years, she started airbrushing and hand-painting beach scenes on shells for a local business. Many years later, she expressed interest in other forms of art and began painting on canvas in acrylic and oils. Currently, JoAnn Nelson has pieces of her work in local art galleries and in art and craft shops throughout the area.

    JoAnn paints what she feels at any given moment, whatever that may be. At times, she may be inspired by a thought or a dream; by the beauty around us every day. When painting, she loves creating bright, colorful pieces but at times she also relishes the dark. She is whimsical, abstract, expressive and diverse. She is an artist. Enjoy!
