I started painting cars simply because I wanted to learn to do watercolors and I have always liked cars. Through painting cars I have learned to see so much more in them. And the more I paint the more I see.
The forms, shapes and reflections have become much more interesting to me than just the car itself. It is actually rare that I choose to do a painting of just a car. It is now more that I want to paint all the distorted reflections on the chrome and body, as much for the challenge as for the end result.
This has lead to my "Fraternal" series of related cars reflecting on each other. I have fraternal twin boys which gave me the idea for the name of this set of paintings.
I have had a few exhibitions at the San Diego Automotive Museum and at the Automotive Hall of Fame in Dearborn Michigan. I was featured in the Sept. 2008 issue of Hemmings Classic Car magazine.
