About my artwork
My linocuts mainly depict architectural aspects of Port Elizabeth, which has developed from a colonial, settler town to a modern metropolitan city. The work depicts aspects of the city’s historical past as well as the present.
I am inspired by the detail as well as the geometric and flowing lines of old and new architecture. My artwork is not only documentation of old and modern architecture, but also a record of places I have visited and admire.
My linocuts are hand printed on good quality hand-made Japanese paper, and prefer to produce work in small and limited editions to maintain exclusivity.
