Born and raised in Haifa, Israel, Iris grew up wanting to be an artist. Her whole life revolved around the world of art. She attended some art schools in her early 20's including: Avni institute of Art in Tel Aviv, Betzalel Art Academy in Jerusalem and West Galil College where she studied art as an educational tool. You can see in her richly worked paintings of the sky, the water and more abstract themes, how she expresses feelings and ideas in her own unique, creative way. In addition to her abstract themes, she also draws stories from the bible.
Every piece has a deep meaning behind it;
sometimes political, sometimes personal, but mostly spiritual.
As well as painting, Iris is an art teacher and gives art lessons to adults and kids at her studio in Kiryat Tivon.
In addition, Wexler produces and manages meetings of artists all around the country.
Those meetings last up to 4 days and take place in different locations, all of which are nature-themed. At these meetings, the artists can reconnect to their inner self and reach a high spiritual level in their paintings.
"I believe that faith projects on the art and that the art constitutes an expression of the strength of a person's soul" - Iris Wexler
