Born in 1975, Sally is a Gloucestershire-based artist who like many of the best painters today, is entirely self-taught. Having always enjoyed art, she began working commercially some 12 years ago as an equine and pet portrait painter, with word of her talent spreading rapidly and commissions flooding-in.
Sally has won numerous awards for her fine, highly detailed acrylic paintings including the prestigious international ‘Ex Arte Equinus II’ Director’s Award in 2008 and the Editor’s 1st Runners Up award in 2010. She is an Associate Member of The Society of Equestrian Artists, and exhibits in London as well as various galleries in the UK.
Characterised by fine brush strokes on subtle backgrounds, Sally’s focus is always on the beauty of the horse itself, often observed from unusual or quirky angles. However she also undertakes commissions in human portraiture as well as other domestic animals.
