Hi! My name is Virginia Drago, and I am twenty-two years old. I was born and raised in Mobile,Alabama and recently graduated from the University of Mississipi this past May with a B.A. in both English and Journalism and a minor in Spanish. I moved to Charleston,South Carolina on a whim in September and hope to be blessed enough to continue living in such a remarkable city. My fascination with flowers began at a young age with a special, unspoken tradition of my parents. Every Friday, my dad would come from work with a bouquet of flowers for my mom, and she would arrange them in a glass vase on the coffee table in our living room. I always believed those flowers brought a sort of majestic aura to the room, and I found their intricate beauty to be mesmerizing. I began taking pictures of flowers when I was a junior in college during a project I was working on for a Photojournalism class at Ole Miss. From there, it has quickly grown into one of my favorite hobbies and living in Charleston surrounded by so much beauty has given me limitless material to work with. Most of my photographs were taken in Charleston,South Carolina, Mobile,Alabama and Oxford,MIssissippi, but I always have an eye out for any beauty I may be lucky enough to come into contact with. Most of my scoping for potential shots occurs while I am partaking in my daily dose of therapy: running the streets of Charleston. Because I find the natural beauty and design of flowers to be their greatest attribute, I do not alter or edit the photographs in any way, so they will remain as they are intended to be seen, and also because I honestly do not believe I could do anything to make them more beautiful than they naturally are.
