A plane flying without any windows is the best way to explain my style of art. You don't know where you are going or where you are going to land . I don't paint flowers , just the graves that flowers grow on . I was born in Washington DC and discovered my talent at the age of six (6) by drawing cartoons and cartoon figures that I saw in comic books. Art was my escape from the pain that I was going through at the time. More the pain more deeper I painted. At the age of eight (8) my young brain snapped from all the family pressures and I was sent to a mental institution . It was there that I met a young woman named Susan Houston who was mainly responsible for helping me get to a higher place with my art. This art director showed me the doors to water colors, pen and ink, pastels, oils, and my favorite acrylic . She molded me at the age of nine to see art not through the eyes of others but my own. By doing so I discovered myself and so did others. Because a lot of my works were stolen while in the hospital. I even sold some of my work at a very cheap price because at the time I didn't know or understand the value of art or the value of my talent. Today I still paint as if still flying in that windowless plane. I grab a canvas and some colors and go where my mind takes me. I let the colors create where the plane should land . I hope you enjoy . But keep in mind that the mind of Ray is a flight of imagination that has no bounds and sometimes makes no sense at all, but to be whatever you want it to be . BUT IF YOU LOOK REAL CLOSE YOU CAN SEE THE LOST COLORFUL YEARS OF MY YOUTH, WHEN MY BRUSH PAINTED FREE . Respectfully Raymond Primrose .
