I am 74 years old. I have loved drawing ever since i picked up a crayon at 8 years old. I was born and raised in a little village called Alameda on the outskirts of Albuquerque NM. That little village is now a part of the larger city. When I lived there it was about 3 1/2 miles to the nearest store. Our property bordered on the sandia pueblo land and as a result I was friends with many young indian boys my age. Needless to say the southwest is in my blood. My wife of 50 years and I moved just recently to Phoenix AZ. , for health reasons.I still love the southwest and am able to relate to any southwest theme. When I was in the service i painted a mural in the main hall of Cambridge University. The only fame I have ever known. Ha Ha. I took art in highschool, but have never had any formal training in art. I am self taught. I love to work in all mediums but I think I like graphite pencel drawing the best. I have been trying the colored pencils and do enjoy the ability of them to blend colors. I also like the pencil feel of them for detail. I have a portfolio at bdnowlin.carbonmade.com also http://www.bdnowlin.nobullart.com, my main gallery is at http://bd-nowlin.fineartamerica.com
