Sean Rolf-Hum's Gallery   -   Artist Biography

In my artworks throughout this class I noticed that I have a tendency towards either a plain black or white background or a field or meadow there are only two creations that don’t fit to this them they are one of my trashy compositions which was on a teal blue  background and the text savvy poster which had a rainbow burst background. This is probably due primarily to the fact that I don’t much like color I understand that it is very effective in getting across certain themes but I feel it is far too unclean cut in comparison to the look of a black or white background. I think that the meadows are because I generally just like the look of clean cut grass and bushes probably due to where I have lived my whole life. I also use very strange and obscure thing as the subjects for my art. I have used bowties, sonic screwdrivers, Tyrannosaurus-rexes, troll dolls, and even the earth. I think this might stem from my desire to be able to control or manipulate everything and luckily I can with photoshop.
