Born in Montreal by the end of the 60s, the young Galia Vaillancourt grows up in the cultural environment (daughter of Michelle Lépine modern ballet dancer and well known sculptor #ArmandVaillancourt, #vaillancourtfontain) of the big metropolis.
The vision of the contemporary artists (#ArmandVaillancourt, #Rioppel, #Roussil, #Mousseau...) of period lives in her imagination. The works of these are a part of her daily landscape. From a young age, her desire of creation and expression grows up.
Any new object and material is a purpose for invention.
She develops a preference for painting further with a stay of three years in Mexico. Self-taught the artist's work the spatula by china ink, acrylic and gel medium.
Her paintings are colorful, sculptured and three-dimensional. The series "Beast Heads" is inspired by the mythology and stained-glass windows.
