Artist Bio-Monique Dunson
Monique is a contemporary artist and a graduate of the University of Cincinnati DAAP program and track and field team. Monique focuses on acrylics but is a veteran mixed media artist as well as an abstract artist. She uses found objects and transforms their known form into something or someone magical. A unique and creative way to upcyle a small amount of recyclables in the world. She has used items from peas to tile to create amazing images. Monique’s subject of music allows her to show a tremendous amount of feeling. Music allows her to express many emotions and create a platform to tell her life story. In many ways she is speaking and showing love with the gift God has given her. Her work can be found on display on her website www.modesigns.nobullart.com.
Monique has exhibited all around Cincinnati in festivals like Vibe Cincinnati on Fountain Square and galleries including New American, Red Tree Gallery and more. She has taken part in Black history month exhibits at P&G, 5/3 Bank, Duke Energy, Westin Hotel. She has taken her work on the road and exhibited in the Chicago Tribune art show and published in New Art International Magazine.
Monique has goals of using her work to change the way people see things while bridging gaps. In her eyes music and art can be a common language that speaks to all. Monique to see her work shared more nationally and internationally.
