I'm a SAHM with a dominant dork-side, strong Jedi tendencies, and a healthy love of books, snacks, cats, and home. =)
I started painting about three years ago, and have loved every eager, delighted, terror-inducing moment of it. =) Over the course of these two years, my work has graduated from watercolors, colored pencils, and acrylics, to oil on canvas, hand-painted clay figurines, and oil on wood. (Though it might seem like a peculiar choice with which to work, I've found that I greatly enjoy the options, vitality, and organic feel that wood provides as a canvas.)
I find it difficult to settle on a label, or category, that I feel would aptly describe my style or aesthetic, as my subject matter generally runs the gamut from animals, still lifes, portraits (both human, and of the four-legged variety), and seasonal pieces, fantasy pieces, and quirky works of the sublime and absurd. =)
I paint what I know, and I paint what I love, so some recurring themes in my work are nature, music, literature, home, fairy tales, and fantasy.
