Behrokh Hakimzadeh was born on February 1962 in Jahrom Iran, the youngest of 12.She   grew up in a rural community immersed in the natural landscape of the surrounding mountains and trees. The influence of nature can be recognized to this day in her early landscape art, with primary focus on bringing trees to life.She immigrated to Canada in late 80s with her husband and young daughter,and later had a second daughter.For a period of time,Behrokh trained with a painter in North York ,Ontario to developed her craft,but is largely self taught.Her medium of choice is acrylic paint on canvas.
